Teenagers in the United States are capable of doing great things. Unfortunately, even the most accomplished teenagers may feel unable to create an adequate criminal defense should they find themselves facing criminal charges. Unfortunately, three teens in Wisconsin are now likely worrying about their legal options following their recent arrest.

Police say that they received a call about a reckless driver, specifically that the driver was seen driving into oncoming traffic and swerving. The vehicle reportedly stopped at a gas station before police could catch up to it. Officer says that when they approached the vehicle, they discovered a 15-year-old driver, a 19-year-old mother and her infant and another teenager.

Police say that all three teens, including the driver, were intoxicated. The mother, police claim, was unable to stand or speak coherently. Additionally, police say that the 15-year-old driver failed a field sobriety test. The driver was arrested and charged with drunk driving before being released to his parents while the teenage mother was charged with child neglect. The other occupant is accused of underage drinking.

Unfortunately, the prospect of responding to criminal charges is daunting for adults and is likely especially difficult for these teenagers. In the coming weeks and months, they will likely be required to make multiple decisions that will have a significant impact on the rest of their lives. While they may feel unprepared to do so, an experienced criminal defense attorney in Wisconsin can help them understand their legal situation, allowing them to make informed decisions as they maneuver through criminal proceedings.
